Blew vessel in brain? Empty Blew vessel in brain?

    Post by aces11 Tue Sep 19, 2017 6:07 am

hey everyone, wondering if anyone else had this happened to them. I actually did it about three years ago, but never found out what it was. I was working out yesterday, and while I was pushing for that last rep or two, (breathing well) it felt like something in the top/back of my head popped, followed by a bad headache and light headness. after some deep breaths, it goes away. But when I start up with hard reps, I can feel it coming back! what's up with this? Last time I did it, it took three weeks to go away, the whole time not lifting. thoughts?

Take it easy in the GYM if it persists after 2 weeks I would see a doc.

I would definately see a doctor just to cover your bases, veins popping in your head is not something to shrug off!

It sounds to me like you might be holding your breath when your lifting and exerting too much pressure in your head. I've seen people hold their breath and turn 3 shades or red and blue....it's very dangerous. Concentrate on your breathing and controlling the pressure in your head.

When was the last time that you had your BP checked? Also, are you on any gear that might elevate your BP or standing heartrate?

thanks for the responses guys. No, not on any gear. BP has always been really good. I think stonecold has a good point, when I REALLY concentrate on my breathing, and make sure I'm not putting alot of pressure on my head, it's alot better. And no, no headaches while at rest or after leaving the gym. I probably should call the doc though.
